• We have added a Setup Wizard that launches after DPS is first installed. This walks you through common questions and issues that may arise when integrating DPS with your computer's sound system.

• The DPS Plug-In will no longer open automatically upon startup. Instead, a system tray icon will appear informing you that the software is running.

• The default City profiles are now those that come with the iOS app. All City profiles are available from within the Profile Browser.

• Known Issues: If you are running Windows in a language other than English, you may get the “DPS driver not found” error at startup. Also, some sound cards do not support dynamic output driver switching. Each device category (Built-In, Desktop or Headphones) may have a different output assigned to it. Switching outputs may result in a DPS crash. We are working to resolve these issues.

• The latest version for Windows is always available here.

New in this version:

• Improved compatibility with iTunes Match. While we are still not allowed access to the Apple Cloud, the songs you have Matched appear in your library clearly labeled as such. Remember, for DPS to be able to play a Matched song, it must be played by the Music app first. The Music app downloads the song to your device thus allowing DPS to play it.

• Increased headroom to prevent distortion.

• DPS HEAR - DPS HEAR is designed to give a quality listening experience at volumes that are safer for you and your children's ears. You may turn on DPS HEAR in the settings page (gear icon) and it can also be locked via a number code. This feature is only available when you connect headphones to the 1/8” jack.

Gapless audio - Currently the Bongiovi DPS app does not support gapless audio (no pause between tracks). This is due to the highly complex nature of the DPS algorithm and limitations within older versions of iOS. Though it seems simple, providing this feature is quite complex and is still work-in-progress.

Songs not available due to DRM or iTunes Match - Only the iTunes Music app has access to songs that are in the Apple Cloud. This is the most common reason for a song appearing in the Bongiovi DPS lists with DRM (Digital Rights Management) protection. A song must be on your device's disk for it to be accessible. To make a song accessible to Bongiovi DPS and other apps simply open the Music app then touch the “Cloud” icon next to the songs you wish to play. The songs will be downloaded from the Cloud and become available within the Bongiovi DPS app.

Stability on Older Devices (iPhone 3gs, iPod 3rd gen etc.) - The Digital Power Station audio processing algorithm, while highly optimized, is very computer processor intensive. This means older devices have just barely enough power to run the DPS app. For a comparison, the Bongiovi DPS app uses only slightly less processing power than a complex 3d game. If you are using an older device with Bongiovi DPS, double tap your iPhone or iPod's home button to reveal what apps are currently running. Touch and hold any unused apps until they wiggle then close them by touching their “x”. This will free up much needed memory that Bongiovi DPS needs to function properly.

• If the Bongiovi DPS app says you must upgrade to the full version and you have already done so, just touch the upgrade button. At the end of the upgrade purchase process you will see that it is FREE. Apple will not make you pay twice.

• You may add new profiles to your device via iTunes document sharing. They are available at the Bongiovi DPS Profiles Page

• It is recommended that you quit the iPod (now called Music in iOS 5) app and any other media library players while using Bongiovi DPS.

1. This version now compatible with OSX Leopard (10.5) through Lion (10.7) and iTunes 10.5. There is no need to upgrade if you are currently running 1.4. This version mainly provides support for Leopard users.

• Known Issue: Version 1.4 has an issue with upgrading from other versions. If you would like to upgrade from 1.4 to 1.4.1 we will have to reset your activation again due to this issue. There is no need to do this unless you are using OSX Leopard. Please contact us for any manual reset requests.

• We have re-named the Universal profiles to City Profiles. The profiles sound the same so you may want to view the Universal to City profile key.
